A wonderful Vintage Silver brooch depicting the Greek God Eros with wings outstretched and bow string drawn.

Eros is the Greek God of love. Similar to his Latin counterpart Cupid, Eros was known to fire arrows which would pierce a persons heart and overwhelm them with desire and longing. This act today we know as ‘love at first sight’.

The brooch is all set in Sterling Silver with intricate engraved detail displayed throughout. It is complete with hallmarks on the reverse which date the piece to 1948.

Weighs 23.7 grams.

Measures 52mm across x 55mm down.
